What are the responsibilities and job description for the Activities Assistant/Restorative Aide position at Kenwood View Health & Rehab Center?
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
As an activity assistant you are responsible for supporting the efforts of the Activity Director in the assessing, selecting, organizing, and implementing of activity/recreational services to address the individualized needs and interests of the overall patient population within the center. This position will perform part-time activities duties as well as part-time restorative services in order to accumulate to full-time hours.
GENERAL DUTIES
- Assists in the development and delivery of activity/recreational programs to promote the patients’ opportunities for engaging in normal life enhancement pursuits and to increase and/or maintain functioning levels.
- Maintains precautions/limitations list on each patient.
- Encourages patient participation in group and individual activities including arts/crafts, community outings, religious activities, intellectual/educational activities, community/center service activities, recreational activities, etc.
- Performs any miscellaneous work assignments as may be required.
Perform rotating restorative schedules.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma with course work in recreation is desirable; Completion of a state approved activity-training course is preferred but not required.
- Previous experience in leading recreational activities, arts/crafts, intellectual/educational activities, community outings, etc., desired.
