Job Functions / Responsibilities
- Proactive approach to defining issues and reaching early resolution and consensus
- Provides engineering advice for specific design or installation problems encountered in manufacturing
- Interacts with Division Engineering, Production, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials, and Quality Assurance to develop design improvements throughout various chassis systems and implementing new engineering projects
- Runs prototype trials prior to project implementation.
- Supports kaizen, six sigma projects, warranty reduction, and quality improvement projects by providing appropriate engineering representation
- Perform other related duties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Progression towards degree in related engineering field
- Demonstrated ability to understand complex tasks
- Excellent communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to organize and manage projects and prototypes.
- Must be able to read and use engineering drawings/schematics
- Proficient in all applications within the Microsoft Office suite
- Experience with Pro/Engineer or other 3D modeling software
- Must be a Junior/Senior level student
- Other duties as assigned
- Truck or automotive experience with demonstrated understanding of mechanical and electrical devices and manufacturing processes
- Understanding of the product development cycle
- EIT
