The Center for Global Engagement of Kenyon College invites applications for an Assistant/Associate Director for Off-Campus Study. Responsibilities include all aspects of administration of approved off-campus study (OCS) programs, advising and supporting throughout the OCS process, and coordinating and implementing OCS programming.
Responsibilities:
Assist with all aspects of the administration of approved off-campus study (OCS) programs:
- Advise students interested in OCS.
- Interview students as part of the OCS application process.
- Stay informed of student visa requirements.
- Maintain contact with program providers.
- Facilitate student evaluation of all OCS programs.
- Assist students seeking outside scholarship funding.
- Understand and communicate OCS policies (academic credit, financial).
- Review OCS applications and assist students with revisions.
- Health and safety policies.
Responsible for student aspects of Kenyon programs:
- Informational sessions.
- Advising.
- Application management.
- Pre-departure programming.
- Oversee visa process.
- Contact with partners/providers.
- Re-entry programming.
Coordinate and implement OCS programming, including:
- Pre-departure orientations.
- General.
- Topic specific.
- Re-entry sessions, including Returnee Reception.
- OCS panels.
- OCS Photo Exhibition.
- Information sessions, both formal and informal.
Assist with creation of new OCS programming:
- Cross-cultural programming across campus.
- Employment workshops.
- Other programs as suggested/requested.
Participate in office and campus-wide events that will involve evening and weekend hours, including:
- OCS programming.
- Site evaluations.
- ISAK programming.
- Admissions panels.
- Represent Kenyon at conferences.
- Other events as necessary.
Maintain and create text for informational materials:
- Print materials.
- Office website.
- Oversee CGE social media presence.
Work with a variety of campus constituents:
- Academic Advising
- Registrar’s Office
- Accounting
- Financial Aid
- Residential Life
- Career Development Office
- Academic departments
Supervise:
- 1-2 student interns
Serve as part of on-call rotation for OCS and international students.
Other duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in a relevant field with 3-5 years experience in education abroad (Assistant level).
- Master's degree in a relevant field with 5-7 years experience in education abroad (Associate level).
- Significant international experience living, studying or working abroad.
- Demonstrated experience working with people of diverse backgrounds.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to travel nationally and internationally as required.
- Working knowledge of a foreign language.
- Ability to work well in a team, and to work well with a variety of constituencies (students, faculty, parents, staff).
- Experience with TerraDotta system.
