Seasonal BFEC Assistant Land Manager
Job Summary:
The Brown Family Environmental Center at Kenyon College seeks a seasonal assistant land manager to perform trail maintenance, light landscaping, and invasive species removal. This is a 3- to 5-month appointment with a 35-hour work week, Monday through Friday.

The Brown Family Environmental Center at Kenyon College seeks a seasonal assistant land manager to perform trail maintenance, light landscaping, and invasive species removal. This is a 3- to 5-month appointment with a 35-hour work week, Monday through Friday.
Responsibilities:
- Trail Maintenance - Regularly maintain trails by mowing and trimming plants for accessibility.
- Grounds Work - Regularly trim around bluebird boxes, benches, and interpretive panels. Mow in the Wildlife Garden area as needed.
- Invasive Species Management - Remove invasive plant species and replant natives as necessary.
- Bluebird Monitoring - Monitor bluebird trails as required.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Taking direction and working independently.
- Collaborating as part of a team.
- Experience with tools such as push lawn mowers, zero-turn mowers, tractors, hedge trimmers, weed eaters, and drills.
- Familiarity with the Brown Family Environmental Center.
- Basic natural history knowledge.
- Comfortable with physical outdoor work.
- Able to lift at least 50 pounds.
- Willingness to acquire new skills as job responsibilities evolve.
