Duties
- Assist the bus driver in ensuring the safety and well-being of students during transportation.
- Help students get on and off the bus safely, ensuring they are seated and secured properly.
- Monitor student behavior and maintain a safe and orderly environment on the bus.
- Communicate with the bus driver, school staff, and parents regarding any concerns or incidents that may arise during transportation.
- Follow established procedures for emergency situations, including evacuations and first aid.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: Previous experience working with students or in a childcare setting is preferred.
- Behavior Management: Ability to effectively manage student behavior and maintain a positive and respectful environment on the bus.
- First Aid: Knowledge of basic first aid procedures and ability to respond to medical emergencies if needed.
- Special Education: Familiarity with special education needs and accommodations for students with disabilities is a plus.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills to interact with students, parents, and school staff effectively.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to assist students with boarding and exiting the bus, which may require bending, lifting, and walking.
