Core Competencies / Responsibilities
- Research, design and present classes at all levels of technical knowledge as it relates to theory and practical application of new and existing vehicles components and systems operations including vehicle equipment and tool safety classes
- Design and present maintenance training classes which comply with the requirements of the FTA, the DOT, the State of California, the VVTA and Keolis
- Maintain instructor manuals, create handouts and develop testing for class presentations
- Coordinate all vehicle and technology training classes assuring class size, coordinate schedules with shop supervision to ensure attendance of all affected personnel
- Document all training classes and maintain individual technician training record files
Knowledge and Experience
- Five (5) years progressive heavy duty fleet mechanical experience
- Two (2) to four (4) years’ experience with teaching/instruction, both field and classroom
- Associates degree in management, mechanical engineering for related field, or an amount of work experience equivalent to an Associate’s degree
- Valid driver’s license
- Computer literacy in word processing, spreadsheet, and database programs
- A broad understanding of all mechanical systems related to heavy duty transportation vehicles
- Familiarity with the laws/regulations associated with the safe operation of maintenance fleets
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work without constant supervision; self-motivated
