What are the responsibilities and job description for the Safety/Training Supervisor - VM position at Keolis North America LLC?
Knowledge and Experience :
High School Diploma, some college preferred
Three (3) years progressive public transportation experience with at least one year of supervisory experience
Ability to interpret and explain regulations to others
CDL Class B with P endorsement and air brakes for a minimum of 2 years required
Knowledge and understanding of Department of Transportation, Federal Motor Carrier, Department of Homeland Security, and Federal Transit Administration rules and regulations and applicable State Regulation
Experience in training qualified candidates for employment
Able to work without direct supervision
Must be able and willing to work flexible schedule that may include nights, weekends, and holidays
Must be able to work in a union environment
Must know the geographical area which includes the Phoenix Metropolitan area.
Must be able to multitask in a fast-paced work environment
Able to effectively conduct oral presentations to a variety of employees across departments

Key Accountabilities :
Compliance
Responsible for ensuring all training is compliant with State and Federal regulations and the local contract
Conduct monthly audits for safety sensitive employee DOT physical and license renewals and random drug and alcohol compliance.
Coordinate and ensure company with the substance abuse testing program using Federal and
Safety
Investigate, report recommend on reports of hazardous locations, situations, or events.
Backup Road Supervisor and could be used in revenue service in the event of an emergency.
Supports the overall safety program as directed by the Safety Manager.
Assists the Safety Manager in coordinating and facilitating monthly safety meetings and serves as a member of the safety committee.
Manage and investigate near-miss reports.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Training
Responsible for teaching and supporting the overall safety program to include introductory OSHA training for Maintenance personnel, introductory training for dispatchers, and training for road supervisors to include accident investigation.
Provides coaching and counseling to employees.
Responsible for teaching and coordinating new-hire bus operator training including classroom theory, behind-the-wheel, and route training for existing CDL holders and CDL candidates.
Able to operate and teach operation on each type of bus on site.
Perform other duties as assigned.
