Nittany Eye Associates is seeking an energetic, passionate and driven full time Optician to join our team. Opticians at Nittany Eye Associates are responsible for all aspects of patient’s glasses. This involves everything from ordering a full pair of glasses to repairs and adjustments. Opticians will work one on one with the patient to determine what kind of lenses will work best for the way the patient uses their eyes. Opticians will also assist the patient in picking out frames that best suit the patient’s style and prescription lenses. Responsibilities and Duties ● Provide patients with exceptional customer service by assessing and understanding patient needs ● Aid patients with frame styling and selection ● Custom fit glasses and precisely place prescription lenses ● Perform repairs such as replacing nose pads, screws, or temple tips ● Explain insurance coverage to patients ● Input patient information and glasses orders in Electronic Health Records with accuracy and attention to detail ● Follow HIPAA compliance policies ● Demonstrate superior product knowledge and accurately describe the features and benefits of all products ● Take pride in the appearance of the dispensary and show initiative in keeping displays and inventory clean, attractive, and organized ● Set the standard of quality in eye care and eyewear by ensuring every patient has a second to none experience Qualifications and Skills ● High School Diploma or GED ● Excellent customer service skills ● Attention to detail ● Ability to work in a fast paced environment ● Friendly, upbeat personality ● Familiarity with point of sale systems and basic computer competency ● Able to embrace change and new technologyBenefits:401(k) matchingDental insuranceEmployee discountFlexible spending accountHealth insuranceHealth savings accountLife insurancePaid time offVision insuranceSchedule:Day shiftEducation:High school or equivalent (Required)Work Location: Multiple Locations
