Experience:
Previous experience as an optometric technician or in a similar role required
Responsibilities:
Conduct pre-testing of patients, including NCT, autorefraction, lensometry, screening visual fields, and Retinal Photography, visual acuities, etc.
Cleaning of the pre-test area and equipment before each patient use.
Contact lens training- instructing patients on how to care for, insert, and remove contact lenses.
Special testing as directed by the Doctor.
Assisting patients in completing any paperwork reasonably necessary for the operation of the Practice.
Computer Tasks. Administering standard day-to-day computer tasks (Data entry into Electronic Medical Records system).
Provide exceptional customer service and assist with retail sales of eyewear and contact lenses
Skills:
Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, and ocular anatomy
Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and maintaining patient confidentiality
Proficient in using electronic medical record systems for documentation
Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
Excellent interpersonal skills for effective communication with patients and colleagues
