VP, PHILANTHROPIC GIVING
KERA, the public media organization for North Texas, is hiring a dynamic VP, Philanthropic Giving to serve on the Development Team to lead KERA’s Major Giving, Institutional, and Planned Giving programs.

POSITION SUMMARY :
The VP, Philanthropic Giving is responsible for leading KERA’s Philanthropic Giving Program, especially through Major Giving and Planned Giving. This includes developing new strategies for cultivating and growing prospective donors for both programs, as well as bringing new ideas for engagement and stewardship of current donors and developing a holistic giving pipeline of donors moving between membership, mid-level, major giving, and planned giving. This role will share responsibility for the achievement of department revenue goals and inform the operational and administrative activities of the team.
This is an FLSA classified exempt position, which is not eligible for overtime. The position reports to the SVP, Development and directly supervises the Donor Relations team members, the Director, Planned Giving, and the Director, Grants & Foundations.
WHAT YOU'LL DO :
Leadership and Collaboration
- Lead a team of 3-5 people responsible for an annual revenue goal of $4 million (Donor Relations Officers, Donor Relations Coordinator, Planned Giving Director, Grants & Foundations Director, and others as needed)
- Develop and implement overall growth strategy for major giving across individual donors, bequests and planned giving, and grants and foundations
- As part of the Capital Campaign, establish connections and relationships in the community as the lead and point person for major giving
- Maintain oversight of moves management of major donors and prospects among the team
- Engage and cultivate board of directors and other volunteer leadership involvement and relationships
- In collaboration with other teams (including Corporate Sponsorship, Audience Development, Content, etc.) and leaders within the Development team (including On-Air Fundraising, Direct Mail, Donor and Audience Services, etc.), research, implement, and manage strategies to improve operations, acquire new donors and retain and grow existing donors through the donor pipeline
- In collaboration with Director of Operations and SVP of Development to improve processes, create efficiencies, and manage effective major gifts project management
- In collaboration with the Development team (Major Gifts, Planned Giving, Grants and Foundations, Donor and Audience Services, On-Air Fundraising, Membership, etc.), deliver timely and engaging donor benefits and thank you gift items

SALARY RANGE
130,000 - $150,000, depending on experience

We expect that this position will work out of our Dallas office at least 50% of the time.
