Purchasing & MRP Coordinator
Location: Kerfkore, Brunswick, GA
Job Type: Full-Time
Reports To: Operations Manager
Job Summary
We are looking for a hands-on and detail-oriented Purchasing & MRP Coordinator to manage material planning, purchasing, and shipping/logistics for our small manufacturing operation. This role is responsible for operating the MRP system, ensuring materials are available for production, coordinating supplier purchases, and handling inbound and outbound shipments. The ideal candidate is comfortable wearing multiple hats and working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
MRP System & Inventory Management
· Operate and update the MRP system to track material needs.
· Monitor inventory levels to prevent shortages or overstocking.
· Work with production to forecast material requirements.
· Generate reports on inventory status and material availability.
Purchasing & Supplier Coordination
· Place purchase orders (POs) for raw materials, parts, and supplies.
· Maintain relationships with vendors to ensure competitive pricing and on-time delivery.
· Negotiate with suppliers to reduce costs and improve lead times.
· Track orders and follow up on delivery schedules and delays.
· Handle supplier issues, including quality concerns or late shipments.
Shipping & Logistics
· Manage incoming shipments, ensuring materials arrive on time and match POs.
· Coordinate outbound shipments, including preparing packing lists and shipping labels.
· Work with freight carriers and couriers to get the best rates and reliable service.
· Ensure compliance with shipping regulations and handle returns or damaged goods when necessary.
Qualifications
· Experience: 2 years in purchasing, inventory management, shipping, or MRP operations, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
· MRP/ERP Software: Experience using MRP/ERP systems (e.g., QuickBooks, Fishbowl, SAP, or similar).
· Technical Skills: Proficiency in MRP, Microsoft Excel and inventory tracking software.
· Organization & Multitasking: Ability to manage multiple priorities in a small company environment.
· Problem-Solving: Strong ability to troubleshoot supply chain and logistics challenges.
· Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for working with suppliers and internal teams.
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience in a small manufacturing environment.
· Knowledge of basic accounting principles related to purchasing.
· Ability to work independently and take initiative.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
Full-Time; Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Education/Experience: Some College or Trade School Preferred
