What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-Time Studio Art Instructor position at Kermes & T Art Academy?
Kermes & T Art Academy is currently seeking to hire a long-term PT Studio Art Instructor to join our expanding teaching team. We are particularly interested in individuals who fully understand the process of building a college admission portfolio.
The potential candidate needs to have extensive knowledge in fundamental fine arts mediums such as drawing and painting, as well as basic knowledge in digital illustration. We are looking for a team member who can handle regular drawing and painting classes while providing creative ideas on portfolio development.
This is a long-term position. We expect the employee to stay with the job for at least one academic year. The pay starts at $20-$30 per hour and increases based on longevity in the position.
Qualifications:
- Legal status to work in the US.
- Must have graduated with an art or design-related degree: BA/BFA/MFA. MFA preferred.
- At least one year of teaching experience is required.
- Must be willing to work on weekdays evenings from 3-7 pm and weekends.
- Strong commitment to teaching and ability to meet deadlines.
- Understand fundamental and different approaches to drawing media techniques with strong foundational skills in figure drawing.
- Bilingual in English/Mandarin is preferred.
- Must be tech-savvy, proficient with Word and Adobe software. Experience in Procreate is a plus.
- Strong writing, research, and organizational skills.
