What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sheriff's Records Supervisor - Shift position at Kern County?

Shift information: 5% additional pay for evening shift work; 7.5% additional pay for night shift work. Applicants must be able and willing to work any shift of a 24-hour period and any 5 of 7 days.
Examinations:Written Exam (Weight 100%) May include knowledge of the principles and practices of records management; policies and procedures associated with the preparation, utilization, distribution, retention, retrieval and release of police reports, arrest records or a variety of other records and reports; computer operating systems and software related to processing and maintaining records; basic supervision and training principles and other relevant subjects .
Applicants must attain at least a 70% score on each phase of the exam process.
Minimum Qualifications/ Employment Standards:
High School Diploma, G.E.D or equivalent.
Three years of clerical experience including one year of experience as a Sheriff’s Records Specialist OR other law enforcement agency records personnel, OR an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to obtain the knowledge and skill to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
Certification of Typing/Keyboarding speed of 50 net words per minute
Possession of a Valid California Driver’s License is required upon appointment for some positions.
Applicants MUST submit a copy of their typing or keyboard certificate, issued within the last two years, verifying a speed of 50 net words per minute and attach it with their completed application. Certificates must conform to testing standards adopted by the Civil Service Commission. Typing certificates information may be found here.
