Kern Energy is looking for a Designer Draftsman who will create detailed drawings, plans, and blueprints for building and design projects. The qualified candidate will be knowledgeable in industry standards and have a strong understanding of engineering principles. Job Function
- Improve Drafting department processes and procedures.
- Establish the basis for Engineering document control.
- Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) and drafting software to create detailed plans, models, and drawings.
- Analyze and interpret customer design requirements and specifications to create accurate drawings and maps.
- Lead the refinery P&ID AS-Building projects.
- Provide oversight to the refinery equipment numbering system.
- Prioritize and manage the drafting department workload and backlogged items.
- Consult with engineers and architects to ensure the accuracy of designs and plans.
- Develop technical drawings, layouts, and detailed illustrations for projects.
- Modify existing designs and plans based on customer feedback and requirements.
- Adhere to industry standards, codes, and regulations.
- Ensure drawings follow safety regulations.
- Assist with other design tasks as needed.
Knowledge Skills
- Proven experience as a designer draftsman or similar role.
- Proficiency with CAD software, SolidWorks, and AutoCAD.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in creating technical drawings and maps.
- Knowledge of engineering principles, refinery processes, and industry standards.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and the capacity to adapt to evolving project requirements.
- Familiarity with drafting standards and best practices.
- Willingness to learn and stay updated on industry-specific software and tools.
Education/ Experience
- Degree in Engineering, Design, or related field.
- 5 years experience Drafting.
