Kern Regional Center is one of 21 private, non-profit regional centers contracted by the State of California through the Department of Developmental Services (DDS) to coordinate community-based services and support for individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. Kern Regional Center services over 10,000 individuals in Kern, Inyo and Mono Counties. Our counties cover approximately 22,000 square miles with a population of over 945,000 people.
We are looking for a dedicated Assistant Director to assist in the management, organization, and coordination of Kern regional Center's Service, Access, and Equity unit. This individual will participate in the administration and assist in policy making, provides direct supervision to designated staff, and completes related tasks as assigned. The Assistant Director of Service Access and Equity will be responsible for providing direction to agency staff on Department of Development Services (DDS) policies and procedures, review and approve a variety of reports and grant proposals, attend in person outreach events and meetings in the community, and anticipate need for data, and assist in directing the Service Access and Equity department.
Requirements
The ideal candidate:
- Master’s Degree in Social Work or related field with emphasis on administration from an accredited institution(s).
- Five (5) years of increasingly responsible professional experience, including or supplemented by three (3) years of management experience. Experience should include two (2) years of work with individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Or any combination of education and experience.
- Possession of a valid California Driver’s License and State automobile insurance, and acceptable
- driving record substantiated by a DMV printout.
- Full use of automobile or ability to provide for independent transportation.

Salary range for this position $99,900 - $140,570
Starting salary range $99,900 - $110,140
