What are the responsibilities and job description for the Resident Monitor position at Kern Valley Health District?
Position Details
Under the direction of the Charge Nurse, is responsible for monitoring patient/resident on a one-on-one basis to ensure they are in an environment that optimizes safety and reduces likelihood of injury. This includes engaging the patient/resident and properly guiding them as needed. This person is not responsible for providing direct care or lifting or transferring patients. Temporary assignment hours vary, but will typically work up to three 12-hour shifts per week.
High school graduate or equivalent required with hospital or therapeutic experience preferred. Must enjoy working with elderly patients with limited physical and mental abilities. Current BLS certification required within 90-days of hire. Must be able to effectively communicate in English; both verbal and written. Must have good interpersonal skills and interface professionally, tactfully and respectfully with residents, patients, staff, and the general public.
Salary : $18 - $26
