J. The controller has the final responsibility for providing effective financial control of the organization
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES-
A. Interacts with external auditors in completing audits.
B. Develops an annual operating budget and consults with department management on the fiscal aspect of program planning, salary recommendations and other administrative actions.
C. Evaluates and updates human resources policies and procedures ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, contractual agreements and other guidelines.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS-
A. Self-motivated and self-managed with a high degree of honesty and integrity.
B. Cost accounting experience in a multi-faceted construction environment.
C. Experience managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, banking, and cash.
D. Good communication skills both written and verbal.
E. Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including generally accepted accounting principles. Knowledge of financial and accounting software applications. Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations. Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
WORKING CONDITIONS-
Working conditions are normal for an office environment. Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening work.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS-
A. BA/BS Degree in accounting, finance or related major.
B. CPA certification preferred but not required.
C. 5 years of experience in financial management.
