Primary Purpose:
To provide content development, coaching and instructional leadership for teachers and collaborate with Campus and District Instructional Leadership Teams. Coordinate the campus Advanced Academic program. Ensure the proper administration of all campus testing according to state, district, and College Board guidelines.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
- Bachelor’s degree from a recognized, accredited college/university preferred
- Valid Texas teaching certificate
- Current ESL Certification: ESL Certification required within (2) years of employment beginning with teachers hired in the 2010-2011 school year
- Completed initial 30 hours of Gifted/Talented (GT) training and current with 6-hour annual update
Special Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Strong instructional leadership skills and in-depth knowledge of curriculum & instructional protocols, pedagogy and delivery
- Effective human relations and leadership skills
- Ability to implement policy and procedures
- Strong organizational, communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills
- Excellent computer skills
Experience:
- Five (5) years of successful experience in education as a high school teacher preferred
- Experience working with Advanced Placement, SAT and ACT preferred
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Instructional and Program Management
- Provide content development, coaching and instructional leadership for teachers.
- Assist in the alignment and implementation of the academic program at the campus level.
- Collaborate with Campus and District Instructional Leadership Teams.
- Distribute campus testing results to appropriate personnel and assist the Campus Data Team with mining and distributing data.
- Disaggregate PSAT/NMSQT, SAT, ACT, and Advanced Placement scores to determine student achievement and to use in program evaluation.
- Serve as the Campus Testing Coordinator.
- Coordinate the administration of all district testing including state mandated tests, standardized tests, PSAT, Advanced Placement, and Credit by Exam.
- Review and verify secure/non-secure shipment of testing materials upon arrival at the campus. Distribute secure/non-secure testing materials to test administrators. Collect secure/non-secure testing materials. Verify and submit secure/non-secure testing materials to district personnel and TEA.
- Conduct mandated campus assessment training sessions.
- Observe test sessions; answer questions, resolve problems, report testing irregularities.
- Maintain the filing system of campus testing results and ensure that students take the appropriate assessment.
Other
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
- Maintain an appropriate level of technology competence to meet the current and future needs of Alief.
- Implement alternative methods of instruction as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of Professional Non-Supervisor Personnel.

Environment: May work prolonged or irregular hours; some district wide travel; all campuses are temperature controlled with hard surface floors
Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress

2025-2026 Salary Schedule
Minimum teacher salary is $64,100
2025-2026 Teacher Salary Schedule
Salary is based on 187 days. If working less than 187 days, the salary will be less.
Certified teacher sign-on bonus:
Certified Teacher - Any field - $4,000
Special Education Teacher (Self-Contained Assignment) - $5,000
Bilingual Certified Teacher - $5,000
Certified Teacher with existing TIA Designation - $8,000
Bonus payment delivered in two (2) installments-50% (9/30/25), 50% (9/30/26)
