Job Description:

The successful candidate will support business strategy by ensuring all HSE directives, policies, and initiatives are effectively implemented at site level. They will develop and execute HSE annual objectives and improvement plans in conjunction with site operations management and business unit HSE Manager.

Responsibilities:

Develop strategies for implementation of new or revised policies and regulations.

Manage environmental permits and program requirements specific to the site.

Lead implementation and management of site ISO 14001 Environmental Management System.

Audit/inspect site operations to ensure compliance with corporate policies and HSE regulations.

Identify HSE training needs and develop resources.

Organize and oversee site safety committee meetings.

Support site supervisors with incident investigations and communicate corrective actions.

Partner with Human Resources to monitor Workers Compensation claims.

Participate on the plant Security Team and review physical site security.

Manage expenses of safety programs.

Conduct risk assessments and implement corrective actions.

Track and monitor site HSE Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

Maintain HSE records to ensure adherence to corporate policies and regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate should possess a BS/MS in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Chemistry, or related field. Experience in HSE in a manufacturing setting, preferably in the food industry, is desired. The candidate should have knowledge of HSE regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and ISO 14001.
