Job Description
The Quality System Specialist will play a key role in maintaining and improving the facility's quality management systems. This includes investigating product nonconformances and customer complaints, conducting root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Investigate and Resolve Issues: Collaborate with the QA team to investigate product nonconformances and customer complaints.
- Training and Coordination: Develop, train, and coordinate schedules for QA technicians.
- Certification Support: Plan and support activities related to FSSC and SQF Certification.
- Quality Management: Work closely with all staff to ensure the quality management system is understood, implemented, and maintained.
- Document Control: Manage the facility's documented control program and support internal and external audit programs.
- Audit Assistance: Assist with internal, external, and customer audit preparation, findings, and investigations.
- Facility Inspections: Facilitate facility inspections related to food safety and quality.
- Program Review: Review and update site quality and quality systems programs. Escalate issues and concerns regarding food safety and quality programs.
- Reporting: Provide daily/weekly task reports to the Quality Supervisor.
- Support and Compliance: Support product non-conformance investigations, customer complaint resolutions, and other operational issues.
- Intelex Support: Enhance site Intelex effectiveness and usage.
- Documentation: Update plant-specific work instructions, policies, and procedures related to food safety and quality.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience: Minimum of two years' experience in a food or beverage manufacturing environment, with a strong preference for previous quality systems experience.
Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field is highly preferred.
Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
ERP Systems Knowledge: Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, MAPICS) is a plus.
