What are the responsibilities and job description for the Material supervisor position at Kerry?
A successful Materials Supervisor is responsible for monitoring, directing, and growing an inventory team. He / She will be focused on initiating and conducting cycle counting duties to ensure all materials are properly verified in the daily / weekly reporting structure.
They will maintain inventory accuracy through proper processing of material reports and transfers. Supervisor will be responsible for managing stock at risk inventory and reporting.
He / She will assist their team by physically guiding and directing them in proper order to maintaining accurate inventory and managing book to book inventories with 3PL.
He / She will report directly to the Materials Manager and keep them abreast of all inventory discrepancies.
Key responsibilities
To be successful as the Materials Supervisor, you should be able to critically assess and maintain inventory accuracy, not only at the primary facility but also external warehouses.
Area of Responsibilities :
Cycle count materials based on the ABC grouping system which will be monitored by the Department Manager
Research inventory discrepancies and submit accurate inventory / bin location reports.
Assist in determining root causes on inventory discrepancies and help implement corrective actions to eliminate repetitive errors.
Responsible for answering Customer Service, Warehouse, Production and Engineering inquiries in a timely manner.
Complete ownership of all areas of managing inventory details
Always maintain a clean and organized work area
Own physical inventory charter created by Management for mid and annual counting / auditing
Complete 3PL (external warehouse) Monthly Book-to-Books
Oversee the development and execution planning to reduce / remove rework or obsolescence inventory
Lead inventory meetings when called on
Ability to drive an order picker and other warehouse equipment carefully and safely.
Qualifications and skills
Minimum 3-year experience with inventory experience as Owner of inventory
Excellent communication skills.
Strong research and analytical skills.
Able to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks and achieve set targets
Familiarity with an integrated Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system would be beneficial
Ability to lift 50 lbs
Ability to squat, sit, stand, walk, reach daily and as needed to perform all job functions
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
Must be able to work in a team, as well as independently
Perform different job functions within the organizations warehouse department
Must be able to follow procedures, best practices and report unsafe and unprofessional behavior
Prepare reports and updates as and when required
Other duties assigned by Management
The typical hiring range for this role is $73,758 to $108,755 annually and is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, location, etc.
