The Role
As a Quality System Specialist, you will maintain and improve the facility's quality management systems. You will work closely with the QA team to investigate product nonconformances and customer complaints, conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
- Investigate and Resolve Issues: Collaborate with the QA team to investigate product nonconformances, customer complaints, and operational issues.
- Training and Coordination: Develop, train, and coordinate schedules for QA technicians.
- Certification Support: Plan and support activities related to FSSC and SQF Certification.
- Quality Management: Work closely with all staff to ensure the quality management system is understood, implemented, and maintained.
- Document Control: Manage the facility's documented control program and support internal and external audit programs.
- Audit Assistance: Assist with internal, external, and customer audit preparation, findings, and investigations.
- Facility Inspections: Facilitate facility inspections related to food safety and quality.
- Program Review: Review and update site quality and quality systems programs. Escalate issues and concerns regarding food safety and quality programs.
- Reporting: Provide daily/weekly task reports to the Quality Supervisor.
- Support and Compliance: Support product non-conformance investigations, customer complaint resolutions, and other operational issues.
- Intelex Support: Enhance site Intelex effectiveness and usage.
- Documentation: Update plant-specific work instructions, policies, and procedures related to food safety and quality.
Qualifications and Skills
Experience: Minimum of two years' experience in a food or beverage manufacturing environment, with a strong preference for previous quality systems experience.
Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field is highly preferred.
Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
ERP Systems Knowledge: Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, MAPICS) is a plus.
Compensation and Benefits
The typical hiring range for this role is $62,906 to $95,074 annually, based on several factors including education, work experience, certifications, location, etc. Kerry offers benefits such as a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase, and retirement contribution.
