About Kerry
What will you do?
- To design, develop, and optimize nutritional supplement formulations that meet market demands and regulatory requirements, ensuring high-quality products for customers, manufacturing partners and contract manufacturing organizations (CMOs & CDMOs).
- Formulation Development: Research and develop of new creative supplement formulations, including powders, gummies, capsules, tablets, and liquids, based on market trends and consumer needs. Incorporating the full Kerry portfolio of ingredients including bio-actives, flavors, excipients, coatings and functional ingredients.
- Technical Support: Provide technical support to customers and manufacturing partners such as Contract Development & Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) and Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CMO), partnering with their process technologists and engineers.
- Ingredient Sourcing: Identify and source high-quality ingredients that meet product specifications and cost objectives.
- Product Testing: Conduct laboratory tests and collaborate with application & development teams to evaluate the effectiveness, safety, and stability of supplement formulations.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all products comply with local and international regulations, including labelling and safety standards.
- Collaboration: Close collaboration with cross-functional teams including R&D, marketing, sales, product management and business development, to ensure successful product development and launch.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed records of formulation processes, test results, and product specifications.
- Continuous Improvement: Monitor and evaluate customer feedback, market trends, and competitive products to drive continuous product improvement.
- Prototype Development: Conduct research, develop prototypes, and run lab machines independently, formulating and optimizing applications such as gummies, stick packs, and tablets to meet taste, texture, and stability requirements.
- Communication: Effectively communicate with management, other departments, and customers on the coordination of development activities, results, and next steps.
- Travel: Occasional to moderate levels of travel to customers, manufacturing sites and industry conferences
What will you need to be successful?
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in supplement development and/or manufacturing industry
- Bachelor's degree in food science, food engineering, pharmaceutical science, or a related field.
- Advanced degrees (master’s or Ph.D.) in a relevant field are highly beneficial.
- Demonstrated leadership in product development of supplements and confection.
- Experience working in a dietary supplement manufacturing, food, and/or pharmaceutical facility.
- Experience developing formulations for supplement-based products.
- Familiarity with typical formulation and analytical approaches for dietary supplement development.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Experience using lab instruments (e.g., hardness tester, pH meter, sieve analysis).
- Ability to travel to customer and manufacturing partner facilities. .
- Strong interpersonal skills to influence and motivate others to quickly achieve results.
Compensation Details
The typical hiring range for this role is $91,131 to $134,638 annually and is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, location, etc. In addition to your pay, Kerry offers benefits such as a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and retirement contribution (all benefits and incentives are subject to eligibility requirements).
