What are the responsibilities and job description for the Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan Inspector position at KerTec LLC?
This position is a long term temporary position with the ability to become a full-time position in the future. SWPPP Inspector is essential for maintaining high standards in our projects, ensuring compliance, and overall quality throughout the construction process.
Summary of Day-To-Day Responsibilities:
- Working alongside client and other site personnel in a construction setting
- Candidate should anticipate traveling thoughtout the country, as needed, to conduct site visits and inspections. This may include long term postings at these site.
- Daily monitoring of Best Management Practice/Erosion Control Device (BMP/ECD, respectively) installation on a large scale construction site
- Collect and analyze data related to construction processes, materials, and workmanship
- Attend daily onsite meetings with client and other site personnel, attend Project support calls and meetings, take minutes
- Keep lists and databases of inspections and findings up to date and readily accessible for Client, Owner, and KerTec, et al.
- Document findings in detailed reports, highlighting any areas of concern or non-compliance
- Prepare and submit digital, geo-referenced reports based on inspection findings
- Confirm compliance with relevant environmental regulations and permits
- Participate in quality control processes by recommending improvements based on inspection results
- Respond to client/potential client requests via phone or email
- Site visits to assess site conditions, collect samples, communicate with KerTec’s Team
- Stay updated on industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to construction inspection

Candidate Must Be:
- Eager and willing to collaborate with others but be self-motivated
- KerTec is a drug-free environment. Candidate must be willing to submit to pre-employment and periodic drug testing
- Willingness to work outdoors, which may include adverse weather conditions, rugged terrain, varying temperatures, excessive noise levels, or other potential hazards
- Mobility around construction sites, including: walking, bending, squatting, or kneeling while wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Willingness to sit for extended periods of time, either in office setting or within a vehicle during inspections or travel to/from job site
- Willingness to build effective working relationships with contractors, engineers, and project stakeholders
Must Have:
- Strong Communication skills and experience with relationship building – most important requirement
- Obtain or willing to obtain a Qualified SW3P and QCIS certificate imediately upon employment
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans
- Highly motivated self-starter who takes initiative with minimum supervision
- Proactive candidate, detail oriented, able to provide project/task updates and build trust
- Experience working on computers and with spreadsheets
- 1 year of experience conducting environmental assessments, stormwater inspections, or other applicable erosion control experience (preferred)
- Science-based Associates Degree, or higher (preferred)
- Candidate has access to personal computer (preferred)

Pay: $17.00 - $25.00 per hour
