Kessler's Bakery is looking for a Doughnut Fryer/Icer to join our team! As a key member of our bakery team, you will be responsible for frying and icing delicious, fresh doughnuts while ensuring the highest standards of quality, food safety, and presentation. Your role will be vital in providing customers with high-quality, irresistible baked goods that meet our bakery’s reputation for superior freshness and taste. Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

• Frying Doughnuts:
• Prepare and fry doughnuts according to Kessler's recipes and standards, ensuring each batch is cooked to perfection.
• Operate fryers and other equipment efficiently, ensuring consistency in product quality and appearance.
• Monitor frying times and temperatures to ensure doughnuts are cooked properly and have the ideal texture and color.
• Keep track of fry cycles to avoid overcooking or undercooking.
• Icing and Glazing:
• Coat freshly fried doughnuts with glazes, frostings, or icings according to the bakery's recipes.
• Decorate doughnuts with toppings such as sprinkles, chocolate drizzle, powdered sugar, or other creative toppings to enhance appearance and flavor.
• Ensure the consistency of glazes and icings to create visually appealing and delicious finished products.
• Product Presentation & Quality Control:
• Ensure that doughnuts are displayed attractively in the bakery case for customers to view and purchase.
• Maintain the freshness and quality of the doughnuts by properly storing and rotating products.
• Regularly check for consistency in flavor, appearance, and portion sizes.
• Food Safety & Sanitation:
• Follow strict food safety guidelines, including safe handling and storage of ingredients, raw dough, and finished products.
• Keep fryers, workstations, and the bakery area clean, organized, and sanitized at all times.
• Perform regular deep cleaning of equipment and surfaces to maintain a safe working environment.
• Inventory & Stock Management:
• Monitor inventory levels of doughnut ingredients such as flour, oil, sugar, and icing materials.
• Assist in the ordering and receiving of bakery supplies to ensure there is always enough product to meet demand.
• Ensure that all ingredients are properly labeled, stored, and rotated to maintain freshness.
• Customer Service:
• Help package doughnuts for customers and provide friendly, efficient service when necessary.
• Assist with customer inquiries about product ingredients, flavors, and availability.
• Ensure every customer has a positive experience with the bakery's products and service.
• Team Collaboration:
• Work closely with other bakery team members to meet production goals and deliver products in a timely manner.
• Assist in other bakery tasks, including mixing dough, cleaning, or helping with other baking projects, as needed.
  

What We Are Looking For

• Experience & Skills:
• Previous experience in a bakery or food service environment is preferred but not required.
• Ability to work efficiently with fryers and other kitchen equipment.
• Strong attention to detail in product appearance, quality control, and consistency.
• Knowledge of food safety practices and sanitation standards.
• Ability to follow recipes accurately and work quickly in a fast-paced environment.

• Ability to bend, stoop, and reach for items in the bakery and storage areas.
• Availability:
• Must be available to work flexible hours, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
