Kessler’s Grocery Store is seeking a friendly, reliable, and customer-focused Cashier to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing excellent service, ensuring smooth transactions, and maintaining a clean and welcoming checkout area. We’re looking for someone who is passionate about customer service, has a great attitude, and is ready to make a positive impact on every shopper's experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Cleaning: Ensure that the cashier lane is clean, organized, and ready for customers throughout your shift.
• Fast & Friendly Service: Provide quick and friendly service to every customer, making their checkout process efficient and pleasant.
• Greeting & Thanking: Greet customers warmly as they approach the register, inquire if they found everything they were looking for, assist with parcels or fuel perks cards, and thank them after completing their transaction.
• Price Accuracy: Verify that prices at the point of sale (POS) are correct for each item, ensuring the customer’s transaction is accurate.
• Drawer Accuracy: Maintain an accurate cash drawer throughout your shift, balancing the register at the beginning and end of your shift. Be precise in counting back change to customers.
• Outgoing & Engaging: Be friendly, talkative, and engaging with customers. Serve as the face of the Customer Care department, with a passion for helping others and creating positive experiences.
• Program Expert: Be knowledgeable about and use company programs effectively, such as fuel perks, vouchers, coupons, and promotions (e.g., Triple Coupon Sundays).
• Transaction Expert: Handle all forms of payment confidently, including cash, check, charge accounts, vouchers, credit cards, WIC, and EBT.
• Open Availability: Must be available to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

• Previous cashier or retail experience preferred but not required
• Excellent customer service skills with a positive and friendly attitude
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling transactions
• Comfortable working with cash and various forms of payment
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Outgoing, engaging, and ready to help customers with a variety of needs
• Open availability for nights, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds
