Description:
- Friendly Customer Service: Provide friendly and accommodating service to customers, answering inquiries and offering assistance with various needs such as returns, exchanges, and special transactions.
- Accurate Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records for services provided, including postal services, transfers, gift cards, vouchers, lottery tickets, FAX services, and other customer transactions.
- Product Placement: Assist with product placement and organization in the store, ensuring items are properly stocked and available for customers.
- Money Services: Handle money orders, cash checks, make change, process change requests, and facilitate transfers, house charge payments, returns, and refunds with accuracy.
- POS Knowledge: Be familiar with the POS system and troubleshoot issues as needed to ensure smooth operations at the Courtesy Counter.
- Lottery & Special Services: Provide assistance with state lottery, state park passes, fair tickets, rain checks, Rug Doctor rentals, copies, FAX services, and postage.
- Phone Etiquette: Answer phone calls in a professional manner, provide information as needed, and transfer calls to appropriate departments when necessary.
- Engagement & Fast Service: Offer the fastest and friendliest service to every customer, ensuring they feel welcomed and appreciated.
- Opening/Closing: Open and close the Courtesy Counter, ensuring all necessary paperwork, registers, and systems are ready for operation.
- Customer Inquiries & Complaints: Handle customer inquiries, orders, and complaints in a courteous and efficient manner, escalating issues to management as needed.
- Money Service Accuracy: Maintain the accuracy and integrity of money services provided, including processing payments and exchanges.
- Tobacco Sales: Ensure proper maintenance of tobacco sales, stock, and product rotation in compliance with company policies and legal regulations.
- Providing Special Services: Offer services that are not available at regular checkout lanes, ensuring customers are provided with a full range of options.
- General Store Assistance: Assist with various other duties as required to ensure smooth store operations and customer satisfaction.
- Must be at least 18 years old (due to legal requirements)
- Previous retail or customer service experience preferred
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling transactions
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues with the POS system
- Ability to handle cash and perform money services transactions, such as money orders, checks, and refunds
- Knowledge of lottery, state park passes, and other specialized services offered at the Courtesy Counter
- Friendly, outgoing, and engaging with customers, maintaining a positive attitude
- Ability to handle customer complaints or inquiries with professionalism
- Must have open availability, including weekends, nights, and holidays
