Here at Kessler's, we are seeking a skilled and motivated Deli Grill Cook to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of grilled deli items including breakfast, lunch and other specialty dishes, while maintaining high standards of food quality, safety, and cleanliness. You will work as part of a dynamic team, ensuring that each dish is cooked to perfection and served promptly to our customers. This position will entail:
- Grill Preparation & Cooking: Cook a variety of grilled items, including breakfast menu items as well as lunch, ensuring they are prepared to customer specifications and consistently meet quality standards.
- Menu Execution: Follow standard recipes and portion control guidelines to ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and food quality.
- Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service by preparing and cooking food quickly and efficiently, answering customer inquiries, and ensuring orders are correct.
- Food Safety & Sanitation: Maintain food safety and cleanliness standards by properly handling food, using safe cooking methods, and keeping the grill station clean. Ensure adherence to all food safety regulations, including proper temperature control.
- Equipment Operation: Safely operate and maintain grill equipment such as flat grills, griddles, and other cooking devices, ensuring they are in good working condition.
- Stock Management: Monitor inventory of ingredients for grilling items and inform the kitchen supervisor or manager when supplies are running low to ensure consistent cooking experience.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with other kitchen staff and deli team members to ensure efficient workflow, communicate customer needs, and assist with other kitchen duties when needed.
- Product Knowledge: Develop a strong understanding of the menu, ingredients, and cooking methods to assist customers with special dietary requests and inquiries.
- Cleanliness: Regularly clean and sanitize cooking equipment, utensils, and workstations to maintain a safe and hygienic environment. Assist in set up and tear down of Grill station.
Requirements
- Previous cooking experience, preferably in a grill or deli setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of grill cooking techniques and equipment.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time in a hot and fast-paced environment.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs.
- Comfortable working with cooking equipment, including grills and fryers.
- 5:00 am-3:00 pm-including weekends and holidays.
