SUMMARY:
The Junior Portfolio Manager / Trader role is within the newly founded Kestra Investment Management division of Kestra Holdings and represents a unique opportunity to help support and grow the firm’s investment offerings. The Investment Management unit aims to provide a broad suite of investment solutions and expertise that financial professionals can use to help their clients.
As a Junior Portfolio Manager/Trader, you will work closely with the Portfolio Manager and help develop and manage the trading of investment strategies to be offered throughout Kestra’s various distribution channels: Kestra Financial, Kestra Private Wealth Services, Grove Point Financial, Bluespring, and Arden Trust. As the Junior Portfolio Manager / Trader, you will support development of a range of sophisticated investment strategies that provide exceptional value for advisors and their clients, as well as help construct the operational processes to support the trading of the strategies. On an on-going basis, you will be responsible for assisting the portfolio management team in the management of the strategies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain Kestra IM model portfolios and Investment products across multiple platforms
- Assist in building out a thoughtful, scalable operational infrastructure to support the trading and rebalancing of portfolios
- Monitor daily pricing and portfolio/account deviations from threshold, and manage trading and rebalancing of Kestra IM products
- Create and maintain policies and procedures related to trading, management of model portfolios, and work with management in executing new product offerings
- Manage periodic and ad hoc audit reports related to trading and Kestra IM products
- Support the Portfolio Management team with quarter end processes, including but not limited to generating marketing collateral and performance reports in FactSet and Morningstar
- Stay informed of updates to policies and procedures that relate to our business

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- Undergraduate degree from a four-year accredited college or university, or equivalent experience
- Investment advisory licenses preferred
- Minimum 5 years of experience in trading and rebalancing
- Experience with investment advisory platforms and use of multiple asset classes and securities to develop model portfolios in Envestnet and Tamarac
- Experience generating performance reports in FactSet and Morningstar
- Advanced understanding of building internal processes for trade execution, best practices, and oversight
- Program or project management experience
- Experience in an entrepreneurial environment a plus
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATION:
- FINRA Series 65 a plus, or ability to obtain within 90 days

- Position is located in the Austin, TX office. Must be able to work in the office during scheduled work hours.
