What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Gardner position at Keswick Hall and Club?
POSITION PURPOSE
The Assistant Gardener Position coordinates with Director of Landscape Management and assists with daily tasks to maintain all areas of grounds.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Coordinate with Director of Landscape Management in all areas of grounds maintenance responsibilities.
2. Weed flower beds, mulch, edge, blow leaves, trim hedges, prune shrubs, till prepare annual beds, plant flowers and shrubs, water planters, fertilize.
3. Assist with snow removal.
4. Assist in all cultural programs for flowerbeds, turf, and hedges.
Daily maintenance of all containers at hotel and club.
5. Keep the shop and equipment clean and tidy.
6. Assist with seasonal decorations and floral arrangements as needed.
7. Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
The qualifications listed below are representative of the minimum knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
KNOWLEDGE
Previous horticulture, garden, tree knowledge, operating equipment or experience preferred
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Strong customer relations skills.
Ability to work outside in all weather conditions.
Positive attitude
Willing to work with a team atmosphere.
SUPERVISION
Position functions with supervision.
EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE
Previous experience with planting, pruning, weed identification, mulching, caring for landscape is preferred.
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
Valid driver’s license.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Lifting will be required. (Must be able to lift to 50 lbs).
The ability to do physical work in a variety of weather conditions including but not limited to extreme heat and cold.
UNIFORM REQUIREMENT
Uniforms will be provided.
Employees are responsible for maintaining a clean/crisp looking uniform.
