What are the responsibilities and job description for the JG Steward position at Keswick Hall and Club?
The Steward position is responsible for thoroughly cleaning all China, glassware, utensils, pots, pans and silverware, keeping kitchen and surrounding areas clean and well stocked.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
To perform this job successfully, an individual must satisfactorily perform each essential duty. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties.
1. Work in the dish machine area to receive soiled items and prepare them for the machine.
2. Transports garbage and recycling to correct disposal areas.
3. Follow instructions for dish machine cleaning including draining/filling etc.
4. Place glassware in designated racks for washing/storing.
5. Rinse China freeing debris prior to loading into the dish machine.
6. Scrub pots and pans to clean thoroughly and rinse in sanitizing sinks.
7. Rinse silverware freeing debris prior to loading in the dish machine.
8. Retrieve necessary plates and stock in designated area.
9. Work with chemicals such as bleach, sanitizer, pot soap, and other cleaning agents.
10. Keep floors clean of food, spills and trash to maintain a safe work environment.
11. Sweeping, scrubbing and mopping of floors in and out of food production areas.
12. Discard trash/recycling in designated containers.
13. Rinse and return cleaning equipment to the proper storage areas.
14. Ensure hand towels, soap and chemicals are well stocked.
15. Always maintain a clean and sanitary work environment.
16. Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum of a high school diploma (or equivalent) and 0-2 years of experience. However, a combination of experience and/or education will be taken into consideration.

Shirt, hat, nametag and aprons will be provided.
