Kentucky Educational Television, (KET) has the following full-time position opening at its Lexington, Kentucky Network Center:
Education Outreach Specialist
Used by more than two million people each week, KET is Kentucky’s only statewide media organization, and broadcasts into 8 states and 10 media markets, along with providing live and archived streaming services. In addition to offering high-quality PBS programming, KET annually produces hundreds of hours of award-winning local productions and creates nationally recognized educational resources.
This is a unique opportunity to work with an outstanding and respected Education Outreach team, to support student achievement and an educated workforce through the creation and delivery of high-quality educational content, resources, and services.
As the Education Outreach Specialist, you will serve as a liaison between KET and schools, districts and other educational agencies providing promotion and support for the utilization of KET resources, services and products. You will also provide hands-on learning experiences in the KET Media Lab designed to teach students and teachers technical skills to create media arts projects like animation and video production.

Our ideal Candidate will:
Support the goal of increasing the utilization of KET Education resources, services and products by providing outreach services through site visits, face-to-face or virtual trainings, district/regional meetings, state conferences and specific KET programs.
Collaborate interdepartmentally on the planning, production, distribution, and promotion of education projects and resources.
Promote KET resources, products and services through special projects and events. These projects or events may be statewide or regional and duties may include oversite of budgets, evaluations and promotion (i.e. Young Writers Contest, STLP, Digital Learning Coaches, school librarian meetings, Summer PD Day).
Support the KET All-Stars program as needed.
Serve as a KET Education representative as directed.
Engage in ongoing professional development to ensure up-to-date knowledge of instructional best practices, education technology, standards and Kentucky education issues.
Successful applicants will have the following minimum qualifications, skills, and experience:
Bachelor’s degree in education, literacy, professional training, or related field plus a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in K-12 education, media arts, technology curriculum design, or related field or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience preferred.
Demonstrated experience designing, producing, and delivering educational services and/or resources.
Skilled in developing and presenting dynamic workshops for education audiences.
Excellent communication, social media, collaboration and presentation skills.
Knowledge of education technology, software and equipment.
Must be able to occasionally move/lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
Classroom experience a plus.
Must maintain a valid driver’s license to drive KET Vehicles.
