KET Division/Work LocationCommonwealth Fund for KETLexington, KY Position Details/Eligibility This paid internship focuses primarily on the behind-the-scenes execution of event management and coordination of a non-profit fundraiser. Successful candidates will be very detail oriented and creative. Experience with Microsoft Excel, graphic design, photography, and prop/set construction are preferred. Applicants must have reliable transportation and able to work outside in the month of June.Up to two interns are needed each semester. Junior-, senior-, and graduate-level students attending any college or university in Kentucky and the Southern Indiana region are eligible to apply. Additionally, all Kentucky residents attending a college or university out of state may apply.10 hours per week (approximately 150 hours per semester) are required, although special arrangements may be made when school requirements differ. Each successful intern upon completion of the 150-hour requirement will be awarded a $1,000 stipend.Students must have a minimum GPA of a 3.0 to be eligible for this internship. Two letters of recommendation from faculty or prior employers are required with your resume submission. Summer 2025 Intern Work Plan Application deadline: April 15thInterns will gain an understanding of the following:
- Individual Giving (including membership and major gifts)
- Database entry and payment processing
- Event planning/management
- Fundraising communications
- Silent Auction
- Photography of packages/items for online bidding platform
- Proof/edit/create bid cards. Ensure item codes match.
- Runner for Summer Celebration auction item pick up
- Assemble auction packages
- Event decor
- Assist in creating props, vignettes, lighting and design pieces for event
- Assist event coordinator in all aspect of creative design, including centerpiece and other aesthetic pieces
- Runner/General support for event coordinator
- General Office Support
- Answering phones, returning calls
- Printing and preparing signage for event
- Post-Event
- Thank-you mailing
- Database updates and auction payment posting
- Event and photo review for newsletter
- Other duties as assigned
- May 12 – Aug. 8, 2025
- ~150 hours– schedule will vary
- Availability required for these dates: June 2 – June 13
