A variety of full-time positions - plus occasional overtime. EOE Hiring immediately! Caregivers provide training, support, and coaching in group home or day program settings.
Supports could include teaching people how to:
- Maintain living space, personal hygiene and balance in their home life & weekly schedules
- Learn assembly and production work skills, manage break times, and build co-worker relationships
- Participate in activities, exercise, use etiquette, improve coping skills & self esteem
- Plan & prepare meals, grocery shop, operate household appliances, and budget
- Use community resources, understand their rights, and be safety aware
- Prepare for and participate in leisure activities – Special Olympics, sports, dances, gatherings, etc.
- Manage their sensory needs and maintain their own structured environment
Some positions may require assisting individuals with hygiene/personal care. A comprehensive two-week, weekday, daytime orientation is provided and required (this is excellent paid training). Hiring immediately. EOE
Shifts available: Fri 3p-Midnight Sat/Sun 8a-8p; Mon-Thurs 3p-Midnight; 3rd shift - Tues-Fri Midnight-8a; Sat Midnight-8a Sat & Sun overnight 8p-8a; Mon-Fri 8a-4p; weekend part-time.
Requirements for a caregiver / trainer:
- High school diploma or accredited GED
- Valid driver’s license, good driving record, dependable vehicle
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs or ¼ of own body weight, whichever is less
- Work experience or knowledge regarding the needs of individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities is beneficial, but not required
- Able to attend a daytime training during the first weeks of employment
- Other beneficial experience: CNA, CMA, Direct Care, HHA, caregiver, third shift, restorative aide, elder care, independent skills trainer, Medical Aide, direct support, Medical Assistant, non CNA, nursing home, adult care, special education, psychology, teaching, advocacy, home supports, mental Health, Behavior Trainer Technician, human services, 1st shift, 2nd shift, 3rd shift, weekend shift, home health aide, overnight.
