What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manufacturing Quality Engineer position at Keter North America?
Primary Purpose of Position :
This position will lead quality projects engaging plant operations, and suppliers leveraging problem-solving techniques to improve and sustain plant quality performance metrics. As a key driver of quality improvements within the site, this role has a direct impact on the business and customers with a top loss focus for improvement.
Organizational Relationship :
This position reports directly to the Senior Quality Assurance Manager.
Supervision Responsibilities :
This role will have direct supervision of approximately 10 quality technicians.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities :
- Lead quality improvement projects around scrap, customer complaints, plant and supplier nonconforming material.
- Manage corrective / preventive action items.
- Support the development and implementation of a quality management system.
- Manage supplier SCAR process and drive improvement in current program.
- Support reviews on quality performance metrics identifying and driving improvements with the use of data analytics and problem-solving tools
- Participate in quality performance and project status reviews of quality projects
- Assist in validation of the implementation of corrective actions across our value stream when needed, to assess the effectiveness of improvements
- Support deployment of risk mitigation activities to identify proactively and address potential quality risks
- Monitor operational metrics, and customer / supplier performance promptly to address potential issues.
- Develops Process Monitoring Systems by identifying critical process steps applying methods to reduce process variation that reduce or eliminate the cause of defects.
- Advocate for change as we formalize a quality management system impacting plant departments such as Maintenance, Process Engineering, Tooling & Production.
