TO: All Kettering City School District locations and outside locations as designated by the Assistant Superintendent of Human Capital.
POSITION: SUBSTITUTE CUSTODIAN/SEASONAL WORKER
LOCATION: DISTRICT WIDE
Effective upon appointment
GENERAL INFORMATION: Perform custodial work required for the routine care, maintenance, cleaning, protection, and preservation of the assigned building, its contents, and grounds.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES, Partial List:
- Able to access all areas of District facilities, including operations, utility, and maintenance, classroom, lunchroom/cafeteria, library/media, performance, gymnasium, and office areas.
- Able to follow safety rules and regulations.
- Able to routinely lift and move heavy objects weighing at least 50 lbs. and occasionally lift/carry equipment & supplies weighing up to 75 lbs.
- Able to remove/shovel snow, cut grass, and maintain grounds in a presentable manner.
- Able to work cooperatively with students, parents, teachers, school staff, administrators, and the general public.
QUALIFICATIONS, Partial List:
- High School diploma or equivalent; 18 years of age.
- Must pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
- Successful experience in custodial/janitorial work in a school or industrial environment.
- Able to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Additional qualifications as the Board of Education may require.
SALARY: Per approved salary schedule.
