Responsibilities & Requirements
Job Summary Responsible for performing routine to complex diagnostic and therapeutic technical procedures under the direction of a physician including; extra-cranial and intra-cranial angiography, as well as all body angiography with possible vascular interventions. Performs other duties as assigned.Job Requirements
Education• Associates Degree in Radiography
Work Experience• 3 years minimum as Angiography Technologist or Radiographer• 1-year relevant experience preferred
Licenses, Certifications and Registrations. • Registered Radiologic Technologist through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT R.T) REQUIRED. • ARRT V.I preferred but not required• Ohio Radiographer License REQUIRED
• BLS is REQUIRED
Skills• Provides technical support and assists with IR procedures of diagnostic quality as ordered by the referring physician and/or radiologist on patients of all ages according to established protocols. • Provides technical support and assists with neurointerventional procedures in conjunction with the neuro-interventionalist• Operates required imaging equipment using established guidelines and imaging protocols• Ensures proper safety standards are met• Instructs students and residents and performs preceptor duties when necessary• Assists in maintaining supply inventory• Demonstrates working knowledge of RIS and EMR systems
Essential Functions• Obtaining clinical history and data for correlation with the procedure• Prepare and administer contrast media to the patient according to policy• Practice sterile technique• Assist Radiologist and Neuro-Interventionalist with procedures• Thoroughly educate patients about procedure• Ensure that all records and reports are documented and recorded as required. • Ensure that all pertinent charging as been entered into EMR• Follow radiation safety policies and procedures
