Responsibilities & Requirements
Job Responsibilities
The Registered Nurse (RN) utilizes the nursing process in providing nursing care to patients in all settings in collaboration with other interdisciplinary personnel. Utilizing organizational resources the RN acts as a patient advocate for the delivery of safe care including delegation of care and participation in performance and practice improvement. The RN’s actions and communications should reflect Kettering Health Networks mission, vision, values, and policies in interactions with patients, families, and coworker.
The Registered Nurse reports to the Clinical Nurse Manager.
Job Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program
- Licensed in the state of Ohio as a Registered Nurse
- At least 12 months of RN expeirnece in an acute care or longterm care setting
- BLS certification
- ACLS certification required within six months of hire
- Must be scheduled a minium of 1152 hours per calendar year
- Minimum of 12 shifts (144 hours) per a 6 week schedule
- Weekend Shift Requirement
- 2 Holiday per year
Preferred Qualifications
Minimum five years clinical experience with three-five years in cardiac nursing with well-defined knowledge/understanding of cardiovascular disease processes. Demonstrated computer and electronic health documentation, data entry and management and information presentation. Individual will be cross trained to fill in for Open Heart Educator and assist Structural Heart RN when needed.
This position is for a Resource Opt 2 which has a required schedule of every Monday, Wednesday & Thursday from 0830-1700 with flexibility to work extra when needed.
Requirements:
- BLS
- ACLS- (must be obtained within 60days of hire)
- Must be able to communicate clearly, establish and maintain effective working relationships with multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to maintain detailed, accurate records
- Must possess high degree of self-motivation and ability to function independently while utilizing critical thinking skills
- Ability to adapt to change, multitask and manage stressful situations
- Good prioritization skills
- Proficient in Microsoft office products especially Excel spreadsheets and Power Point
- Ability to work cohesively, constructively with a team
- Experience & knowledge of Open-Heart and Structural Heart procedures preferred
