What are the responsibilities and job description for the Housekeeping Supervisor position at Kettle Moraine YMCA?
POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Branch Director, the Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for keeping the Branches and the included childcare sites clean, safe and attractive. This is accomplished through proactive supervision of housekeeping employees while maintaining a safe and positive atmosphere that promotes member safety and engagement.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Perform general housekeeping duties, including sweeping, mopping floors, windows, cleaning of bathrooms and locker rooms, running of housekeeping equipment and other miscellaneous cleaning as needed
- Conduct daily inspections of building to ensure expectations are being met by the housekeeping team; follow through on all expectations and on all task that need to be accomplished; ensure effective use of time, labor, and materials
- Provide leadership, training and direction to the housekeeping team, coordinate work/tasks of the housekeeping staff and address needs for absences and vacations
- Hire, train and supervise assigned staff; monitor and approve timesheets/cards for assigned staff
- Assist with purchasing of supplies for department
- Oversee compliance with regulations regarding safety data sheets
- Develops an effective team by training employees on proper methods and techniques
- Establish/maintains work performance standards
- Submits reports pertaining to equipment, supplies, expenses, and general housekeeping activities
- Performs quality, services, safety inspections, monitors employees for proper use of PPE, supplies and equipment
- Assists with supply selection, budget, inventory records, and reports
- Performs other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least 18 years of age
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents
- 3-5 years of custodial services with experience
- Previous supervision experience preferred
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
CERTIFICATIONS:
- Bloodborne Pathogens/Child Abuse Prevention every year
