The Kettle Moraine YMCA is looking for a dynamic individual to directly oversee and coordinate our School Age and Day Camp programs. In this role, you’ll be responsible for organizing high-quality before and after school care, day camps, and kids' day out programs. You’ll also lead a team of dedicated staff and volunteers, ensuring our programs meet YMCA standards and state licensing requirements.

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Develops, organizes and implements high quality YMCA child care program(s).

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Directly oversees the School Age and Day Camp program for a specific location or locations.
  2. Coordinates the school age childcare programs for Kettle Moraine YMCA including before and after school, day camp, and kid’s day out.
  3. Ensures high quality programs and establishes new program activities; expands program within the community in accordance with strategic and operating plans.
  4. Trains, develops, and directs personnel and volunteers as needed.
  5. Ensures program operates within budget and that program fees are collected.
  6. Ensures that YMCA program standards and Wisconsin State Licensing requirements are met, and safety procedures followed.
  7. Provides for upkeep of assigned program facilities and equipment and ensures the physical environment supports healthy living
  8. Develops and maintains relationships with Wisconsin state childcare licensing, school administration, parent groups and other organizations and agencies related to assigned programs; responds to all agency, parent and community inquiries and complaints in a timely manner.
  9. Maintains proper records/site files
  10. Attends and assists staff meetings, training sessions and other required meetings.
  11. Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Associates Degree preferred
  2. One to two years related experience preferred in a childcare program.
  3. Must be at least 18 years of age
  4. Must complete Continuing Education as required by Wisconsin State Licensing Standards
  5. Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification preferred; required within 30 days of hire
  6. The ability to relate to diverse groups of people
  7. Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
  8. Must be Child Care Teacher qualified or have the ability to become Child Care Teacher qualified within 3 months of hire

CERTIFICATIONS:

1. Bloodborne Pathogens/Child Abuse Prevention every year


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  1. Sufficient strength, agility and mobility to perform the essential functions of this position and to safely supervise children’s activities.
