Overview
We are seeking an experienced and shrewd investment professional to join our Investments team as we raise a fund and expand our territorial coverage. This role will report to the Managing Director of Investments and will be responsible for managing a geographic region of acquisition pursuits and broker / principal connections. This individual should be a motivated self-starter with experience chasing commercial real estate acquisition pursuits. Additionally, this candidate will work closely with the analysts in our Portfolio Analysis team, helping to foster their growth and ensuring quality control of their initial underwritings.
Responsibilities
- Pipeline Management
- Build and maintain a pipeline of multifamily acquisition targets across multiple states, updating the internal tracking document to show track record to capital partners
- Foster new and manage existing relationships with regional brokers / brokerage teams, staying up to date on recent transactions / changes in regional trends
- Cultivate connections with other principals and maintain fluency on recent transactions in their region
- Acquisition Pursuit
- With support from the MD of Investments - orchestrate and take responsibility for the acquisition process – identifying promising investments, underwriting and sourcing deals, submitting LOIs, developing budgets, conducting due diligence, guiding investment committee, and completing closings
- The candidate should be confident in their underwriting skills and bring prior work experience to the analytical process
- Analysis / Mentorship
- Be responsible for and take ownership of acquisition underwritings in the candidate’s region, working with the Portfolio Analysis analysts to refine inputs and assure accurate budgeting
- Work closely with analysts to mentor and guide their growth through leveraging past underwriting experience
