The successful candidate will be responsible for financial management, payroll, income tax preparation, and various accounting functions in a collaborative and client-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze financial statements by compiling client records and reconciling key accounts.
- Manage full-cycle payroll processing, including time-sensitive payrolls, quarterly tax filings, and year-end reporting (W-2s).
- Assist in preparing simple individual and small business tax returns under the supervision of a CPA.
- Address client inquiries related to financial statements, payroll, and tax matters with professionalism and clarity.
- Maintain and support accounting software systems to ensure smooth and accurate financial operations.
- Contribute to special financial projects and support broader firm initiatives as needed.
- Provide bookkeeping and administrative support for small business clients, with an emphasis on financial accuracy and compliance.
- Associate's Degree required; major in Accounting preferred. Equivalent experience and relevant coursework will be considered.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in small business administration or controllership, preferably within a medical or dental practice.
- 2 years of experience preparing personal income tax returns in a public accounting setting.
- 2 years experience in financial statement compilations and payroll processing, including quarterly payroll tax filings and W-2 preparation.
- Strong understanding of small business operations, financial reporting, and HR processes.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and communication abilities.
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a team.
- High level of computer literacy, especially with Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with Thomson Reuters software (Accounting CS, Practice CS, File Cabinet, UltraTax) is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of GAAP and tax regulations applicable to small businesses.
- Client-facing experience in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Flexibility to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing workloads.
Salary : $110,000 - $140,000
