Description
This position is primarily designed to support the development and management of the CRM (Slate for Student Success) through the development of key retention, communication and student success initiatives throughout the educational lifecycle. By collaborating with student life and academic departments, the Assistant Director position will contribute to the improvement of institutional processes, communication, and data collection and sharing that will strengthen the student experience.
Additional responsibilities will include managing data for the Title III federal grant and the development and distribution of state and federal required campus-wide surveys. The Assistant Director will also provide campus consultation for the development of surveys and maintain a repository of surveys administered. The position will be housed in the Office of Institutional Research and Effectiveness, while working broadly across the campus. The position is not 100% remote , but hybrid work possibilities will be considered. The college's policy regarding hybrid work states that no more than two days per week may be remote. Flexibility within the hybrid definition is an option, but it would be expected that the individual in the role would be within a commutable distance for on-campus work.
Essential Responsibilities :
Student Success Management and Technology Support (70%)
- Exhibits a strong understanding of student engagement and success factors, exercising discretion and independent judgement with respect to matters of data integrity and the student life cycle.
- Builds innovative solutions using a comprehensive CRM to build efficiencies with current student success processes and other processes as they arise.
- Oversees daily automated data imports / exports between CRM and campus SIS (Colleague) and other sources.
- Leads the building and management of student success reporting for leadership to drive and support strategic decisions relative to undergraduate and graduate student support and success initiatives.
- Provides timely insights and analytical support to various internal stakeholders (including the Retention Committee, First-Year Experience Committee, Student Life and Academic Affairs) to support effective decision-making, while prioritizing the Title III grant objectives and population.
- Collaborates with the divisions within Student Life and Academic Affairs to support campus projects, with a focus on first-year, Pell-eligible, and First-Generation students. Projects within divisions include, but are not limited to, academic advising, orientation, financial aid, course registration, and campus life.
- Manages CRM workflows related to day-to-day operations, including forms, campaigns, automated communications, event / scheduler functions to effectively leverage the CRM for student retention and graduation and ensure a seamless coordination of services.
- Work closely with Marketing & Communication Department to build effective communication flows for current students.
- Maintains operational priorities and synergy across campus departments within the platform.
- Manages user permissions in line with FERPA, HIPAA, and institutional policies and data integrity best practices.
- Partners with the Information Technology Department to ensure processes are running smoothly and to address data issues as they arise.
- Implements, improves, and maintains tools that enable student success staff to support students effectively, efficiently, and strategically.
- Develops training tools for staff and faculty users to ensure consistent use of CRM reporting features and resources.
- Keeps current with CRM best practices and new features, continuously developing skills and knowledge to help provide oversight and creative direction on continued growth for the campus community.
