Summary:
The Financial Analyst performs complex job duties in the development, forecasting, analyzing, tracking, modeling and communication of the institutional budget, expenditure patterns, and funds availability. The Financial Analyst will ensure process improvement techniques to further the department’s ability to produce reporting that supports accurate and timely management decision-making.
Essential Responsibilities
- Produce and analyze the daily Cash Flow Report
- Management of the Budgeting software system, Axiom
- Run the Annual Budgeting process including department support, data collection and reporting
- Facilitates the design and implementation of a monthly budget process that supports the long-range strategic plan of the College
- Provides training for the campus community regarding budgetary and financial management philosophies, outcomes, and direction
- Performs fixed asset review and processing in the fixed asset module, including any required journal entries for asset capitalization, depreciation expense, etc.
- Works with Facilities on timing of capitalizing Capital projects and monthly reports on Capital Spend
- Administer internal Financial and budget schedules
- Record Endowment activity and reconcile activity with the Advancement department
- Assists in monitoring and supporting taxation requirements, including quarterly Sales tax reporting
- NYS Unclaimed Funds Reporting
- Serves as Back up for Staff Accountant
- Preparation of annual audit files, financial statements, Single Audit, and Form 990
- Consistently demonstrates high standards of integrity by supporting the Keuka College mission, vision and values and adhering to institutional policies
- Assist the Controller and VP of Finance & Administration, as needed
- Special projects as they arise
- Occasional evening hours / weekends.
- Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.

- Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or related field and/or 3 years’ experience.
- Budget and financial analysis experience preferred
- Computer experience required (Microsoft Word, Excel). Fixed Asset software and advanced Excel skills a plus
- Excellent problem-solving skills required.
- Ability to demonstrate a full understanding of financial modeling & forecasting
- Ability to analyze processes and identify ways to create efficiencies
- Ability to work independently and perform research
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
- Excellent planning and organizational skills
- Ability to be sensitive to and respond to needs/concerns of students, faculty, college staff, and the public
- Ability to work under pressure with a high tolerance of interruptions, and the ability to work with diverse groups of people
