Description
The Keuka College Division of Natural Sciences and Mathematics seeks to hire a full-time Instructor of Mathematics, beginning August 2025.The successful candidate will be asked to teach a variety of courses at the first- and second-year level, from college algebra through calculus. Required qualifications include a master’s degree in mathematics or closely-related field such as mathematics education and teaching experience, with preference given to candidates with demonstrated success teaching at the college level. The Keuka College faculty pride themselves on being enthusiastic teachers who value the mission of a small liberal arts college and enjoy working with students both in the classroom and out. The instructional modality for this position is traditional, on-campus instruction incorporating the use of the College's learning management system (i.e., Moodle). There may also be opportunities to develop a section of this course for delivery in an online modality to meet the needs of our online programs. Essential Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in teaching.
- Teach college algebra, calculus, and other math courses as needed.
- Contribute to the College and the community via work on committees, working groups, etc.
- Work with the division chair and other college leadership on student recruitment activities.
- Support the Keuka College mission, vision, and values, and adhere to institutional policies.
- Maintain a high regard for student privacy in accordance with the FERPA privacy policies and procedures.
- Consistently demonstrate high standards of integrity and maintain a professional and courteous attitude at all times towards co-workers, and internal and external customers.
- Represent Keuka College, its programs, policies, and procedures in a positive and professional manner.
- Attend provided/necessary training and other meetings to support effectiveness within the position as required.
- Regularly attend faculty meetings and other campus events.
- Perform other functions as assigned by the division chair or provost.
Physical Requirements:
- Occasional lifting of boxes, supplies, etc., generally less than 30 lbs.
- Some evening and weekend hours are required.

Requirements
- Master’s degree in mathematics or closely related area.
- Demonstrated enthusiasm and potential for excellence in undergraduate teaching. Successful teaching experience at the college level is desirable.
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Understand and behave with a high level of integrity and complete confidentiality at all times.
- Ability to be sensitive to and respond to the needs/concerns of students, faculty, college staff, and the public.
- Ability to work with diverse groups of people.
