Reports To: Associate VP & Director of Athletics & Recreation

Standard Hours: Variable – up to 20 hours per week

(CANNOT work more than 20 hours per week with all combined KC employment classes are in session)

Award Status: Work-Study

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt 

Classification: Student

Wage: New York State minimum wage for hourly employees

Summary: 

To assist with the Intramural Sports Program at Keuka College.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Provide assistance with the supervision, set-up, operation, and breakdown of intramural sports programs.
• Perform risk assessments to provide a continuously safe environment. 
• Enforce rules and regulations and stop all unsafe actions.  
• Assist with intramural registration and recruitment.   
• Assist in one or more of the following areas: Assist with staff supervision, training, and evaluations; Officiating games and keeping score/time; Staff and league/event scheduling; Inventory equipment and identify equipment needs; Promotion and advertisement of programs, including the use of social media, printed materials, photography, and video; Assist in the planning of programs.
• Responsible for ensuring that assigned tasks are completed in compliance with various institutional and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain a professional and courteous attitude at all times towards co-workers, internal and external customers, representing Keuka College, its programs, policies, and procedures in a positive and professional manner. Maintain effective working relationships to ensure institution-wide teamwork.
• Attend provided/necessary training and other meetings to support effectiveness within the position as required.
• Consistently demonstrate high standards of integrity by supporting the Keuka College mission, vision, and values and adhering to institutional policies.
• Maintain a high regard for student privacy in accordance with the FERPA privacy policies and procedures.
• Regular and reliable attendance is expected and required.
• Perform other functions as assigned by management.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

• Keuka College student in the undergraduate traditional on-campus program.
• Knowledge of various sports; intramural experience preferred. 
• ON-TIME, reliable, and willing to work in a team environment. 
• Ability to communicate tactfully with participants and mediate peer conflict. 
• Enthusiastic, with a desire to work hard and have fun.
• Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
• Understand and behave with a high level of integrity and complete confidentiality at all times.  
• Ability to be sensitive to and respond to needs/concerns of students, faculty, college staff, and the public.
• Ability to work under pressure with a high tolerance for interruptions, and the ability to work with diverse groups of people. 

Physical Requirements:

• Occasional lifting up to 30 lbs. 
• Frequent evening and weekend shifts are required.  
• Required to work in inclement weather on occasion.
