The Slot Technician I, under the direction of the Slot Technician Supervisor and is responsible for the day-to-day repairs of slot machines, performing preventative maintenance, and investigating device malfunctions. The position is responsible for executing machine moves, conversions, installations, and upgrades as directed by Slot Technician Supervisor, Slot Manager, and Slot Director. The position is responsible for responding to a variety of slot and customer service-related issues. The position is responsible for providing attentive, cheerful, courteous, professional customer service to all customers, internal and external, striving to always exceed their expectations.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (includes, but is not limited to, the following)


  • Comply with internal control standards.
  • Maintain proper documentation related to compliance with internal controls standards.
  • Review work orders to determine the tasks to be performed and the tools, parts, and equipment required to complete assignments.
  • Participate, coordinate and complete the installation, movement, and removal of slot machines and related equipment projects as directed.
  • Ensure all slot machines are secure and the work environment is safe and secure for all guests and team members.
  • Assist in jackpot payout process when needed.
  • Assist the Floorperson, as needed.

CONTACTS:


Immediate peers, peers in other departments, immediate supervisor/manager, managers in other departments, customers, and outside vendors/service providers.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:


Position heavy with the lifting of 100 pounds maximum and frequent lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds. Physical factors include constant standing, walking, use of hearing and near vision; frequent pushing/pulling, reaching, manual handling, use of midrange/far vision, color, field of vision, bending; occasional sitting, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crawling, use of smell, depth perception, and typing. Working conditions include frequent exposure to noise and air quality and occasional exposure to weather, extreme heat/cold, wet/humidity, and vibration. Potential hazards include frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts, electric shock, computer use, and occasional exposure to highly exposed places, chemicals, infectious exposure, and equipment. Protective equipment/clothing needed to perform the job includes hand, eye, and other protection as needed to perform the functions of the position.


REQUIREMENTS:


Education: High School diploma or equivalent preferred.


Experience: Experience working in a casino setting preferred.


Certification/License: Must undergo a Criminal background investigation done under the rules of the National Indian Gaming Commission.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Mechanical and electrical aptitude preferred. Knowledgeable in using hand tools, hand-powered tools, soldering and electronic testing equipment preferred. Must be flexible and available to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Must be able to establish and maintain effective communication with co-workers, supervisors, and guests. Must be able to make sound decisions. Knowledge of slot machine brands and slot machine operations is preferred. Knowledge of casino operations is preferred. Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Knowledge of or ability to learn to use word processing and spreadsheet and database software required. Must be self-motivated. Native American preferred.
