Responsibilities:
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures
- Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment
- Take and develop dental x-rays
- Provide patient education on oral hygiene and post-operative care
- Perform dental charting and maintain accurate medical records
- Assist with dental lab procedures, including pouring impressions and trimming models
- Schedule patient appointments and manage the dental office calendar
- Maintain inventory of dental supplies and order as needed
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited dental assistant program preferred
- X-ray certification required
- Knowledge of medical coding and documentation practices
- Experience working with CAD/CAM systems and Epic electronic health records is a plus
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
