Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to veterinarians and ensure the well-being of our animal patients. Your expertise in animal care and handling will be vital in delivering high-quality medical assistance and fostering a positive environment for both pets and their owners.

Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and procedures.
  • Perform animal catheterization and administer medications as directed.
  • Monitor animal vital signs and health status during treatments.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and documentation using veterinary terminology.
  • Provide proper restraint techniques to ensure the safety of animals during examinations.
  • Educate pet owners on animal care, nutrition, and preventive health measures.
  • Conduct dental cleanings and assist with dental procedures using appropriate terminology.
  • Prepare animals for surgery, including anesthesia monitoring and post-operative care.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including sterilization of instruments.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of animal anatomy, physiology, and veterinary terminology.
  • Experience in animal care or handling, with a focus on dog handling preferred.
  • Ability to perform animal catheterization and understand dental terminology.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with pet owners and team members.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Certification as a Veterinary Technician or equivalent experience is preferred but not required.
  • A passion for animal welfare and a commitment to providing exceptional care.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $19.22 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
