Child Care Worker

Keweenaw Unitarian Universalist Fellowship ( KUUF) is looking for a childcare provider during Sunday morning service. KUUF is an intentionally inclusive congregation of people with diverse religious and spiritual beliefs. We meet in our newly renovated building at 604 Bridge Street. Each Sunday our child care provider is assisted by a volunteer from the Fellowship.

Job Description – Childcare Provider

• Reports to Minister or a board designee: 1.5 to 2 hours a week Wage: $20.00 per hour.

This job involves providing childcare during Sunday services. The childcare provider will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of children during these times.

Duties:

• To supervise children every Sunday except the 2nd Sunday of the month, including holidays.

• To assist the religious educator during religious education classes.

• To communicate issues and concerns regarding children to parents, the religious educator, and the minister or supervisor.

• To communicate on a regular basis with the minister or supervisor and religious education committee regarding position successes and challenges.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Ability to work with children of a variety of ages, backgrounds, and neurodiversities.

• Self-motivated and enthusiastic.

• Ability to work with a variety of people from different backgrounds.

• Works cooperatively as a member of a team.

Desirable Qualifications:

• Experience working with children of a variety ages, backgrounds, and neurodiversities.

• Ability to plan activities and routines to help children be successful during childcare times.

• CPR and first aid training.

• Childcare training.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20.00 per hour
